Precision Plate Forming for Fabrication

A 20 ft bed lets Premium Plate form a full-length rim or girder in one bend instead of splicing shorter sections, which removes weld seams from the finished part. Manual or automatic crowning keeps the angle even from end to end of the bed, and a CNC back gauge repeats it across the batch. Formed parts move straight to cutting, rolling, coating, or PWHT on the same site.

Forming Capabilities, Specs & Benefits

For high precision, adherence to industry standards and client specifications, and repeatability, we use advanced controlled press-forming stainless steel systems. Multi-phase QA processes and in-house engineering expertise ensure durability, reliability, and precision.

Capabilities / Specifications:

Parameter
Specification 500 ton, 20 ft bed
Thickness To 1/2 in in common grades; heavier by review
Throat depth 18 in (deep boxes and panels)
Between housings 16 ft 6 in (long components)
Crowning Manual or automatic, for even angle across the bed
Repeatability CNC back gauge
Small-part handling Front support arms on linear guides
Materials Carbon, alloy, HSLA, stainless plate
Typical parts Inner and outer rims, bulkheads, pontoons, wind girders

Benefits:

  • Consistent angles and tight tolerances ensure less rework in assembly.
  • Minimal weld time and splicing due to long-length stainless steel forming.
  • In-house coordination ensures fast turnaround.
  • Processes are traceable and consistent, ensuring repeatable results.

FAQs

Yes – all are performed in-house on the same site, on one QA record.
Yes, rolling, cutting, and coating can be combined with forming in a single order. We offer comprehensive integrated services, which save time and money when compared to using multiple suppliers for individual processes.
Angle accuracy across long bends is controlled using advanced measurement systems, an expert in-house team, and stringent process control. Proper material selection and machine maintenance are also important.
Springback needs a combined process that includes adjustments in the design, suitable tooling selection, and process compensation. This helps to handle the high-strength and work-hardening properties of the steel.
With manual or automatic crowning to compensate bed deflection, a CNC back gauge for repeat positioning, and first-part verification before the batch runs.
By selecting tooling and over-bend allowance for the grade and thickness, confirmed on a first article before production.
1/2 in thickness in common grades, 20 ft bend length, 16 ft 6 in between housings, 18 in throat depth; heavier or larger by engineering review.
To quote the relevant parts, information such as the design of the part, the material grade, thickness, and certification, and the project details like quantity, timeline, and delivery time are needed.
Part drawing, material grade and thickness, certification requirement, quantity, and required delivery date.
Material formability, such as tearing or thinning and strain hardening, is a key limitation. Others include the size of the equipment, tonnage, and the process mechanics.
